Patrick brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role, with over a decade of work in environmental laboratories across Australia and New Zealand. His diverse skill set includes analyzing soils, water, asbestos, and fungal structures, making him a valuable asset to our team. Notably, Patrick has successfully managed the construction and operations of three separate laboratories, overseeing teams of up to 20 scientific personnel. His exceptional leadership abilities have been honed through these experiences, ensuring optimal functioning of all analytical equipment and fostering a motivating work environment.
As a trained and certified Analyst/Report Signatory, Patrick possesses expertise in examining asbestos and mycological samples. He has a proven track record in developing quality systems, providing training, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders such as IANZ and NATA.
Patrick’s dedication to continuous growth is evident in his acquisition of proficiency in mycological identification, particularly specializing in indoor air quality fungal spore identification. This expertise was obtained through training with the renowned McCrone Research Institute of Chicago. Furthermore, Patrick’s extensive experience as a hazmat consultant has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of Victorian and New Zealand environmental regulations, further enhancing his capabilities.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Patrick’s life experience includes serving as a former botanical ecologist for the Department of Conservation (DOC) in New Zealand. This role involved conducting ecological surveys to identify species habitation, showcasing his well-rounded background.
Patrick’s strengths lie in his leadership abilities, which have been developed through managing scientific teams and establishing operational laboratories. Additionally, his meticulous attention to detail is a key attribute that ensures accuracy in his work, from environmental sample analysis to compliance with health and safety regulations. Moreover, Patrick’s adaptability shines through his ability to thrive in dynamic environments, readily adapting to new methodologies, technologies, and regulations. His proficiency in coding languages, particularly Python, further enhances his productivity and precision in his work.
